Showing Working Out
Here are some examples of the working out we encourage the children to show in their maths work. Methods and strategies change frequently from school to school, person to person, time to time so it’s often tricky to know how to support the methods your children are using if you haven’t seen them yourself. Hopefully these examples will give you a rough idea of how work out questions. We always encourage children to show working out so we can understand their understanding and identify how they’ve come to an answer.
