Phonics
Phonics is a huge part of Year 1. In class 1, we will continue to expand on the children's existing knowledge of phonics. We will undertake phonics learning every day, just like in Reception. As well as learning phonemes and graphemes, we will learn tricky words, spelling rules and importantly how to apply all of these learning skills to our reading and writing.
